Why does my myQ app say my garage door is offline?
"Offline" means the opener lost its link to your Wi-Fi or to myQ servers, not that the door is broken. The five usual causes, in order: a router reboot or power blip, a changed Wi-Fi password or new router, weak 2.4GHz signal in the garage, a myQ server outage, or a failed Wi-Fi radio in the opener. Power-cycling the opener for 30 seconds fixes the majority.
Run this 10-minute checklist first
Before you assume hardware failure, work down this list. It mirrors what our techs do on the phone with OKC customers every week, and it resolves most offline complaints without a truck roll.
- 1. Power-cycle the opener. Unplug it from the ceiling outlet, count to 30, plug it back in. Watch for the Wi-Fi LED to settle solid (blue or green on most LiftMaster and Chamberlain units).
