Can I control two different brands of garage door openers from one app?
Yes. Brand apps like myQ only manage their own hardware.
How mixed-brand garages happen (and why apps hate them)
Three-car homes across Yukon and Mustang almost always end up mixed: the builder installed two budget Genies in 2015, one died, and the replacement was a LiftMaster. Now you have the myQ app for one door and Aladdin Connect for the other, and nobody in the family remembers which is which. Manufacturer apps are walled gardens on purpose; Chamberlain will never let a Genie into myQ. So the answer is to stop using the brand apps as the control layer and put something brand-agnostic on top.
